What do you think is the greatest invention ever?
The Air-Conditioner?
Television?
Lightbulb?
Internet?
Handphone?
Laptop?
Medicine?(In general)
Musical Instruments?
Watch?
Clocks?
And the list goooooes on...
If we were to contemplate the number of high tech gadgets that convenience our lives each day, who is to say which is the greatest?
For me, I believe that it truly is to each his own.
Medicine for example, can save a life.
Refrigerators spare everyone the need to use excessive salt or hunting everyday.
The heater gives you a nice, soothing and warm shower when your whole body aches.
Even for one person, what he/she thinks the greatest invention is could differ from moment to moment.
But I believe sometimes the greatest inventions can be the simplest. For example, shoes.
Shoes enable one to tread the globe safely without fear of getting blistered feet or cutting the underfoot against a sharp object.
They help keep the feet pretty clean too. At least, mud-free.
Hmm.. another one would be spectacles. Yeah that's a good one.
Glasses/spectacles/contact lenses help the blind or short-sighted regain umm.. focus?
Think of how many poor people would be squinting each moment to read labels or books or watch television...
But then again.. spectacles weren't invented since the dawn of time.
See I mean that, if you took spectacles away from the world today, huge quantities of people would be inconvenienced.
But, 1000 years ago, it wouldn't have made much of a difference.
Now this comes into play with the theory that everything interlinks.
Without language there would be no writings.
Without writings there would be no books.
Without books there would be no squinting to read in the dark.
Without squinting to read in the dark, there would be no specs.
Follow my train of thought?
Yes there can and probably are many innumerable factors that come into play, and this is just one of them.
Sigh... is it not strange that once one begins to blog he/she feels like blogging the whole world but sometimes nothing he/she intended really was blogged or somewhere along the line the topic changes?
Or the just simply isn't enough time. Hee..
Well I think the greatest invention would be language.
Now this can be implied in many many forms such as communication and stuff, but what I mean is this interlinkage.
Language=Writing.
Writing=Books.
Books=History
History=The Holy Bible.
The Holy Bible=HIstory of the Saviour who died on the cross.
History of the Saviour who died on the cross=History of message of salvation for all.
History of message of salvation for all=Salvation.
Salvation=Heaven.
Haha that's pretty extracted.
So...
What's your inter-linkage?
What's your story?
