-The Generation Gap?-

Finally the Prelims are over.

Well, almost.

Anyway, today after like 3++ hours of DOTA after the ultra short geog paper, two of my friends and I trailed this other guy all the way from Plaza Sing to Taka.

The walk is kickass long.

Actually not too keen to post on what happened.

Then
So after the ordeal was over, I went home by MRT from Orchard.

I was waiting at the door to enter beside two elderly people, and um.. others.

The train was ultra crowded, as usual, and upon entering these two elderly folk began to immediately look for a place to seat.

One 50+ year old woman indicated to them that they could take her seat.

Unfortunately in their haste to rush for empty seats, they didn't see her.

I tried to signal to them that a seat was being offered too but they didn't notice me either.

I heaved a sigh and smiled at that woman, who of course had that "Oh well.." look on her face.

Laughing inwardly I walked over and stood at the part of the train between carriages.

And I noticed that at every stop, if ever an elderly party walked on, she'd offer her seat.

Now think of this:

There were so many other people, people younger, more able-bodied and strong who had seats too, and yet this 50yr-old was the only one to offer her seat???

It almost made me bow my head in shame.

YOung people nowadays, pretending to be asleep or acting uber tired the moment an elderly person walks on the train.

I mean, sure, there are times when you are like that and dearly want the seat too.

But surely not all the young at the same time???

I mean, even if you were tired, you still should give up your seat? That should be the way ain't it.

Come to think of it, the only people I've sen offering seats are middle-aged folks.

What's this world coming to?

Or rather, this generation?

What happened to respect and courtesy?

I wonder, is it just Singapore? Or the whole world.

But why do I care, as long as it's happening it's wrong.

Haiz... what can be done.. the world just goes on...

"for they know not what they've done.."
